A committee made up of parties and associations organized a referendum against the law passed in September by the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud in order to ban any begging. 

Sant'Egidio in Lausanne supports this referendum, because the aim of Government action should not be to make life more difficult for the poor, but to fight poverty.
