Tapachula, Mexico - A helping hand on the border ...

First pictures from Tapachula - the city of Chiapas where thousands of migrant people arrive to start their journey north -, where the Youth for Peace of the Latin American communities carry out an accompanying and supporting mission for the most vulnerable ones of that population, particularly minors.

Marchoux, Ivory Coast - To meet friends, you will be happy to cross the city ...

Ancient suburb of Abidjan, now almost incorporated into the big city, Marchoux was a leper colony, a community of care and hope. 


Some of the lepers of yesterday have now aged. A group of adults from the Abidjan community remembers them faithfully week after week.

Minna, Nigeria - A long life, sealed by a great friendship ...

Remembering Baba Gbako, who died 103, who lived in the Lepers Colony in Minna, and who was for a long time (more than ten years) a friend and member of Sant'Egidio, not missing any Christmas lunch. 

His long life has been a blessing, despite his illness; his sense of humor accompanied all the meetings with his younger friends.

Prayer at Saint-Séverin church in Paris, in memory of Ani Guibahi Laurent Barthélémy, the 14-year-old Ivory Coast boy who died in the landing gear of an Air France plane travelling from Abidjan to the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport. 

To remember him and the many others who face the journeys of hope.

"Kamiano" soup kitchen goes on wheels.
Twice a week we go around the city, to reach the homeless people in Antwerp. 

Hot soup and sandwiches; and then friendship and human warmth. To overcome the cold of the current season and the loneliness that becomes more bitter on holidays.
