It is what many teachers do in schools, but also many retirees teaching Italian language and culture to the "new Italians", those of tomorrow. It means integration, it means living together.

In Karanga prison the visits of the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center students, members of Sant'Egidio, occur regularly and continuously. The Community has also pointed out the case of some elderly people imprisoned because they could not pay a fine, organizing a money  collection, providing for the extinction of the sanction, making them be finally free.
Karanga inmates wrote a long lyric-letter to their friends of Sant'Egidio: "(...) We thank you, for the love you have. You have been our friends, more than our relatives. We continue to pray for you, keep on going. We have our faith in God, there will be an answer, for tomorrow if not for today (...).
