Goma, Dem. Rep. of Congo - Floribert's testimony, the school bearing his name ...

The Community of Sant'Egidio and the outskirts.
On the same days when we are remembering the testimony of Floribert Bwana Chui, a member of the Goma community (Dem. Rep. of Congo) who was killed ten years ago for refusing to be bribed (and for whom the diocesan phase of a beatification process as martyr has been open), schoolyear it's over for the school bearing his name in Mugunga, the largest refugee camp in North Kivu.
The results were more than satisfactory, with a high - for Africa - success rate: 66% of the pupils. The joy of all, children and teenagers, was great, as well as that of their families (in the picture some of the "Form 6" pupils with their certificates).
The "Floribert Bwana Chui" school supported the desire to study and grow of thousands of students from 2009 onwards. Children and young people who had lost everything because of war have found the possibility to dream a different future.
