Villa Literno, Italy - The memory of a refugee, a treasure of humanity ...

The Community of Sant'Egidio and prayer.
Remembering Jerry Essan Masslo, a South African refugee killed in Villa Literno by a criminal gang on August 25th 1989.

From fr. Mariano Imperato speech: "In Jerry's name we want to renew our commitment for those who are refugees. I would like to remind you of the beauty of the encounter with those who have fled away. As for Jerry Masslo, together with refugees we find a treasure of humanity. Through mutual knowledge we overcome so many prejudices and walls. Solidarity is not just a word, but something that makes us better men and women, because it makes us be human with those in need".
